Lifeguarding: The Stromsburg Pool is hiring Lifeguards for the summer. Don’t have your lifeguarding certificate? No problem. We are offering a Lifeguarding class on May 21st and 22nd at the Stromsburg Pool. The Class will cost: $125 for full lifeguard certification and $85 for recertification and $50 for CPR. Plus if you are hired to Lifeguard at the Stromsburg pool you will get reimbursed for half of the class cost. So what do you need to do? Go to the City office and fill out an application, once you have been hired we will contact you about taking the class. Summer Job: Monsanto Corn Research is looking for temporary employees for various fieldwork jobs this summer. Starting wage is $9.50/hr and all applicants must be 14 years or older. If interested stop by the office to pick up an application.

Summer Job: The York DuPont Pioneer Research Center is looking for hard-working, fun-loving individuals to help them pollinate this summer. Starting wage is $8.75/hr and all applicants must be 14 years or older by July 2015. This is a great way to work with your friends and meet new ones! Applications are available in the office. State FFA Convention is April 8, 9, and 10th in Lincoln. This year, we have 3 teams competing (Farm Management, Vet Science, and Floriculture) who qualified at Districts; Agriscience and Natural Resources are 2 non-district qualifying teams that we will be taking to compete. Reggie Rafert will also be competing at State Leadership Skills Events in the Extemp division. Good luck to all participants. 
 
 
The FFA will hold their first annual FFA Banquet on Thursday April 30th at 7:00 in the high school. Students, Supporters, and Community members will be honored at this time, FFA degrees will be awarded, and other various awards. Also, we will be hosting a hired hand member auction, along with other donated/created items to be auctioned off as well. Invite letters with more information will be sent out soon. 
 
 
Greenhouse will open up for plant sales on May 1st. Stop by to see our work and support the FFA through the purchase of plants. *Limited vegetables will be sold, majority of herbs and vegetables will be going to Harmony Nursery.
