The Slammers showed great effort in their first game, putting up 12 points in a hard-fought battle that ended 18–12. It’s just the beginning, and there’s plenty of potential to build on! They decided to change things up for their tournament. This last Saturday on August 23rd, there were new faces on the field and in the line up. With all the unknown team dynamics, the Slammers lost their first game against NEN with the final of 8 - 0. Bummed from this lost, they decided to turn things around and win against Raymond Central Mustangs with a score of 5 - 4. Slammers last game of the day was against Freeman Falcons was a close one. Innings were tight and bats were on fire. When one team was ahead the other was close behind. The game ended in a loss with the score of 6 - 7. Adrienne Waller and Mady Berggren were a pitcher and catcher duo for all three games. The Slammers are hoping for two victories this week on Tuesday @ Polk 6:30PM vs Central City and Thursday @ Cross County 6:00PM vs Boone Central.
